Our custom jewellery design process

Whether you want to redesign your inherited jewellery or create custom heirloom jewellery to be cherished for generations to come, we offer an intimate jewellery design experience to handcraft a sentimental piece of jewellery you’ll treasure forever.

From initial meeting to your slipping on your bespoke Ezara, our award-winning jeweller Laura is with you at every step of the way.

Stage one: Discovery

Get in touch with us to arrange a personalised discovery appointment with our award-winning jeweller Laura. We can meet with you in person at our Adelaide studio, or virtually for interstate clients.

At this first step in the process we gather the basics about your project, including your budget, style preferences, inspiration, and timeframe.

We encourage you to look through our existing designs as inspiration or reference of elements you’d like to incorporate in your Ezara.

Stage two: Collaboration

Your vision is our purpose, and we see our bespoke process as a collaboration.

You’ll meet with our gemmologist and master jeweller Laura either in our Adelaide studio or virtually to discuss the information gathered in our initial conversation.

During this appointment, we’ll share our initial design concepts, stone recommendations and metal suggestions based on our extensive gemmological and jewellery manufacturing experience.

Stage three: Stone selection

Based on your bespoke design, our gemmologist will source your perfect stone from our trusted network of like-minded suppliers, who are all committed to ethical and sustainable practices. We’ll look both locally and internationally if needed.

After we undergo a strict selection process, we’ll confidently present several hand-picked options that are perfect for your piece.

At this stage, we also provide accurate quotes for your finalised design with each proposed stone. We’ll present these to you in person or virtually if needed.

Stage four: Handcrafting your treasure

Once your perfect stone/s have been selected and your design is finalised, we’ll secure both components with a deposit. Your deposit not only locks in your perfect stone, it also reserves the time needed to handcraft every element of your piece by our master jeweller.

Every Ezara piece is handmade to order in our Adelaide workshop by our award-winning jeweller Laura.

We set our bespoke production timeline at four to six weeks to allow for the highest quality hand manufacture. We encourage clients with a special date or occasion in mind to mention this in our initial discussions, as we’ll always do our best to accommodate.

Stage five: Completion and collection

Congratulations! Your bespoke creation is ready to collect, with every element carefully handcrafted into existence.

We’ll contact you to arrange your final appointment for collection or secure shipping. Before handover, we ask that you pay your balance.

How long does custom jewellery take to make?

On average, our bespoke pieces take four to six weeks to manufacture once the design is finalised and the stones have been sourced.

Every custom treasure is unique, so we encourage clients with a specific date in mind to mention this to us as soon as possible – we’ll always do our utmost to accommodate your request.

How do I measure my ring size?

The easiest and most reliable way to measure your ring size is to pop into our Adelaide studio for a complementary ring sizing. We can also discreetly measure your partner’s ring size using a piece worn by them.

We encourage our interstate clients to visit a local jeweller for sizing. Alternatively, you can order our ring sizer here to measure your ring size from the comfort of your home.

Do you source lab grown diamonds?

Yes! We’re committed to responsibility sourcing diamonds and gemstones with consideration of realistic budgets, personal preferences, and practical use of stones.

We work with a trusted network of like-minded suppliers who are committed to ethical sustainable practices to source lab grown diamonds, and will usually present several options for you to choose from.

Can I incorporate my heirloom jewellery into my new piece?

Absolutely! We’re advocates for the upcycling of gemstones and precious metals from heirloom jewellery, and cherish the opportunity to incorporate your loved ones’ memory into your wedding ring.

Can I make changes to a piece from the Ezara original collection?

Of course! By only holding a small stock range, we custom manufacture all of our pieces to accommodate endless changes and personalisation of metals, stones, design and budget.

Can I still work with you if I don’t live in Adelaide?

Absolutely! Technology allows for a truly immersive experience remotely – via email, telephone or video chat.

Are your stones ethically sourced?

As an Australian business, we work with a trusted network of like-minded suppliers committed to ethical and sustainable practices, sourcing both locally and internationally when required.

We generally provide several options for you to view and select from.

Do I receive a valuation with my piece?

Every purchase over $2,000 from our Ezara original collection or bespoke piece is supplied with a complimentary independent insurance valuation detailing stone weights, metals, and manufacturing details.

Do you offer jewellery insurance?

We recommend taking out insurance on your Ezara using a trusted service called Q-Report.

Q Report provides cover both inside and outside your home. You will be insured for damage, theft or even loss. It’s an agreed value policy with many more features and benefits, including the ability to return to us as your preferred jeweller for replacement or repair.
